First Poem Accepted For Publication- Arbor Meditation

After thirty-nine submissions to various poetry journals, one of my poems has been accepted for publication. “An Arbor Meditation” will appear in the Poetry Leaves exhibit (May 1st-31st) in Waterford Township, Michigan. You put out that poison You gonna catch yo’self a rat. Stiff and reeking; You gonna carry dat corpse out back. But Jesus ain’t no rat. ‘cause you can’t find him. Crimson Japanese maple leaf Fallen; huddled amongst siblings over their mother’s roots. Fallen suddenly As though timed to the moon or the length of the day. Or the stride of something ancient. This is a mesostic.  The spine text is Tell Me; a thought that arose on a Sunday morning about how much we hope to be told the answers, and how we are tuned to listen.
