Mail - Art

Here's something I've been wanting to do for sometime amongst friends (and any one else who's interested).

I've had a little time off for a medical procedure and I've come out of the pain-killer stage and found myself - as usual - doing art, and wondering what to do with it all.

The Big Idea

Here's How You Can Connect

If you want to play, contact me at anfurst@gmail.com.
  1. Send me a snail mail address.
  2. You can use this postcard template. You don't need to send post cards. You can use envelopes, or packages, but there it is.
  3. The postcards provide a QR Code to this site with these instructions. Then if you send a post card to someone, they can join in.

A History of Mail Art

More Names: Ray Johnson, Anna Banana,

A few words: Touchon's interests and associations include the Collage/Assemblage community, Contemporary Fluxus, Massurrealism, Neoism, Post-Dogmatism, the Asemic Writing and Visual Poetry communities and the....

Secular Buddhism - What's Your Take? - Modern Koans

While I would say I didn't agree with everything he had to offer, the book struck me as an authentic scholarly examination of the Dharma.  He makes some very compelling arguments, based on an examination of the Pali canon, for stripping away much of the metaphysical trappings of modern Buddhism.   The book is similar to some of the modern works on the historical Jesus, moving beyond the Buddhist texts for corroboration as well as probing the text for hints of edits and biased later additions. Anyone interested in examining the historical Buddha and the Sangha as a means to discern what might be considered...

Poetry: Poems Accepted by Open: Journal of Arts & Letters

Image
Thank you to Open: Journal of Arts & Letters (O:JA&L) for selecting my poems "wait" and "bullet" for publication.  These poems contrast each other in an interesting way. the poem "wait" has been a long time coming.  My first draft was registered on December 2, 2023 9:24 AM. and had gone through 35 versions. "bullet" on the other hand was started on March 9, 2025 10:07 PM and went through 20 versions.   What does that tell me?  Probably that some poems take a while? Some come quicker.  All of them require a lot of editing.
